How it works:
Your inbound mail will be sent to our redundant mail servers where it will be virus checked and the spam filtered out.
Every clean message will then be delivered to your local mail server. The entire filtering and virus checking takes less than 15 seconds.
Spam and viruses
that are intercepted will be stored for 30 days. This allows users
to examine any messages and individually allow them to pass or be
blocked. Users can 'whitelist' or 'blacklist' senders or domains, and
take any message deemed to be valid out of quarantine. Messages are automatically purged from
a users queue after a set period of time.
The Sifter, through the use of heuristic header
and text analysis, blacklists,
and hash databases, enjoys a 99% or better accuracy rate. Mass newsletters that are often tagged as Spam by other filters are
easily identified as valid using these techniques.
Your outbound email is
encrypted so that only the intended recipients may read it. This works
across company and organizational boundaries, yet there is no software to
install and no change to the way you currently use your e-mail system.

How secure is my e-mail?
E-mail is inherently an insecure medium. However, the Sifter Team goes to
great lengths to ensure the security and safety of your mail while
passing through our servers. Our mail servers are in hardened and
secured datacenters in different parts of the country. All systems are
protected by advanced firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Mail flow and security devices are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year. Any problems or attacks that arise can be effectively identified
and handled within minutes.
Is my mail going to be lost?
All mail
received for delivery is assigned a tracking number and logged. The Sifter system is built with reliability and safety in mind. All
messages received can be tracked and will be delivered.
